Jeffrey Pearl has joined BroadSoft as vice president of carrier sales in North America.

Channel partners know Pearl from IP5280 Communications, the cloud-based IP communications provider that he co-founded in 2006. When MegaPath acquired IP5280 in 2012, Pearl took over as senior vice president of sales and spearheaded MegaPath’s refined effort on VoIP and other cloud-based services.

“Jeffrey brings that rare blend of experience understading the needs of both service providers and enterprises and has successfully managed and scaled high performing sales organizations focused on converged IP communications, cloud services and other innovative technologies,” said Patrick Joggerst, vice president of global sales at BroadSoft. “With Jeffrey’s expertise and relationships with service providers, we are confident he will have an immediate and positive impact as BroadSoft continues to execute its growth strategy.”

Pearl is also a co-founder of LineSider Communications, a VoIP communications firm that he started in 2004. When Pearl left, the company was acquired by Cisco. Pearl’s other experience includes serving as CEO and EVP of sales and marketing for ICG Communications where he helped with the 2004 sale of the publicly traded company. He’s also held senior roles at Qwest Communications, Frontier Communications and WorldCom.

“For the past several years, I have witnessed the transformative impact BroadSoft’s innovative Unified Communications technologies and solutions are having within enterprises,” said Pearl. “I am excited to join BroadSoft as we remain dedicated and focused on helping service providers continue to meet the communications requirements of the enterprise market.”
