Broadvox SIP to Deploy with Grandstream's Video, IP Endpoint

SIP trunking and IP endpoints: two great things that go great together, like a Reeses Cup of VoIP goodness. Now, Broadvox is rolling out its own new taste sensation by selling Grandstream Networks new GXV3140 IP Multimedia CPE device with the Broadvox GO! SIP Trunking service, available via channel partners.

The two are targeting, naturally, the SMB space that has shown to be such a rabid consumer of SIP trunking in light of its cost efficiencies. In the case of Broadsoft, the GO! SIP trunking saves 70 per month over an equivalent TDM system, it says. Grandstream brings a plug-and-play device for using the Broadvox-provided IP backbone to run video calls as well as VoIP, plus supporting Web surfing, Google, Yahoo! and MSN versions of IM, and even music/video streaming.

The idea is to bolster productivity, but the endpoint offers more than a few consumer-ish functionalities. It has an integrated Web browser which gives one-touch access to personalized RSS feeds of real-time online information services (news updates, stock updates, weather forecasts, directory searches, etc.) and thousands of Internet radio stations. It also lets the user IM with Yahoo, MSN, and Google, and gives access Yahoo Flicker web photo albums. It comes equipped with an alarm clock (in case youre pulling a George Constanza and napping at work?), a calendar, games and music ringtones.

Whatever the applications, Broadvox delivers the SIP trunks on a private network for reliability and wraps in unlimited local calling, discounted long distance and toll-free calling. Additional DIDs, Local Number Portability, and other options are also available. The network is monitored 24×7 and delivers service to the United States (excluding Alaska), Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and Canada. 

As far as the endpoint, here are a few additional specs: It has a 4.3 digital color LCD screen, full duplex speakerphone and voice codec support deliver best-in-class telephony features.
