Cablevision Systems Corp. has promoted Joseph Magliulo from director of alternate sales channels to vice president of strategic sales channels.

In his new role, Magliulo manages three groups within the commercial sales organization: the indirect sales channel; commercial multidwelling unit sales; and strategic sales, including multilocation, regional and national accounts. He oversees overall subscriber experience and retention across sales, provisioning, billing, collections and customer service, and continues to report to Kevin Potente, vice president of commercial sales for Cablevision.

Cablevision, under Magliulo’s direction, built the cable industry’s first national agent sales channel. The company started its indirect distribution in mid-2006. Other cable operators had been working with bandwidth aggregators for some time but none formalized their channel programs until the mid-2000s.
