Hosted UC provider CallTower Inc. announced Thursday that it is working with Sprint Nextel Inc. to offer a new solution that incorporates CallTower’s service with Sprint’s integrated wireline and wireless networks.

CallTowers UC as a service (UCaaS) solution is integrated with Sprint’s 4G and 3G networks and related wireless applications, eliminating local trunks, reducing desk phones needed for mobile employees and lower calling rates. As an example, users can dial an extension number from a Sprint mobile phone and reach a corporate user, benefiting from a single number, one central voice mail, and enhanced call management features.

The CallTower service will be delivered to locations leveraging Sprint’s Global MPLS network, which will deliver toll-quality voice as well as the other CallTower UC services. CallTower’s services are based on the Cisco UC Manager, Microsoft Office Communications Server, Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Sharepoint Server  and are powered by the proprietary CallTower vXML VoiceCube voice messaging platform.

"By integrating Sprint’s reliable, secure fixed and mobile networks with CallTower’s UCaaS services, businesses have access to best-of-breed unified communications solutions without the capex and management resources required from an in-house solution," said Bob Barnes, executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development for CallTower, in a press statement.
