Cisco, Microsoft, Dell EMC Among GTDC Rising Star Award Winners

The GTDC Rising Star Awards recognize outstanding sales growth and market share through regional distribution partners.

GTDC SUMMIT — The Global Technology Distribution Council on Wednesday revealed the winners of its 12th annual U.S. Rising Stars Awards, presented during this year’s GTDC Summit at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco.

The awards distinguish vendors in the technology industry with outstanding sales growth and market share through regional distribution partners.

“This year’s Rising Stars include both newcomers and returning winners who have made their mark through distribution channels,” said Tim Curran, GTDC’s CEO. “These innovative companies cover multiple hot market categories. They’ve driven growth and success in distribution through proactive engagement and strong commitment to comprehensive solutions.”

The awards are based on aggregate sell-through data across nine categories within the NPD Group’s Distributor Track service: networking software, cloud IT infrastructure, all flash array, cybersecurity, UCC, proAV, mobile computing, hyperconvergence, and gaming PCs and accessories.

The 2017 award winners are:

  • Networking Software: Sector Growth Champion and Sector Market Share Champion – Veeam

  • Cloud IT infrastructure: Sector Growth Champion – Nutanix, Sector Market Share Champion – Cisco

  • All Flash Array: Sector Growth Champion – Nimble (HPE), Sector Market Share Champion – NetApp

  • Cybersecurity: Sector Growth Champion – Checkpoint Software, Sector Market Share Champion – Symantec

  • UCC: Sector Growth Champion – Microsoft, Sector Market Share Champion – Cisco

  • ProAV: Sector Growth Champion – Dell EMC, Sector Market Share Champion – Samsung

  • Mobile Computing: Sector Growth Champion and Sector Market Share Champion – Lenovo

  • Hyperconverged: Sector Growth Champion – Cisco, Sector Market Share Champion – Nutanix

  • Gaming PCs and Accessories: Sector Growth Champion – ASUS, Sector Market Share Champion – Razer
