Only two weeks after announcing its intent, EarthLink Inc. has completed the acquisition IT MSP CenterBeam Inc. for $22 million.

EarthLink announced it would acquire the company on June 17.

A 13-year-old company, CenterBeam provides remote managed IT services primarily to multilocation midsized businesses, and operates an IT Support Center providing help desk, desktop technical support and application support services. The IT Support Center is staffed by approximately 140 IT specialists and engineers who now join the EarthLink team.

EarthLink plans to begin to offer CenterBeam’s 365+ Enterprise Cloud service, Unified End Point Management and Help Desk solutions through its distribution channels later this quarter.

“With the close of this strategic acquisition, we intend to add CenterBeam’s IT services and help desk competencies to quickly expand our IT services portfolio and extend these services nationwide in conjunction with our cloud, security and network connectivity solutions,” said EarthLink Chairman and CEO Rolla P. Huff, in a press statement. “The addition of CenterBeam’s skilled and seasoned team, with years of IT services expertise, will be a major benefit as we strategically grow the EarthLink IT services business.”

EarthLink, an ISP and network services company, announced its entry into the IT services space with a suite of cloud-based services in April 2012. Its portfolio has grown to include additional services as well as an outsourced IT help desk.
