There’s a new sales and marketing exec at Ecessa Corp., the wide-area network (WAN) technology provider.
Eric Brooker brings almost 20 years of experience – including in channel management – to his new vice-president role, where he’ll be responsible for driving the company’s sales and marketing strategies. He most recently was director of sales at Involta, a provider of colocation and managed services. Partners might also recognize him from his previous jobs at West Corp., Brookline Networks and Masergy.
“We continue to invest in new technology and key personnel to strengthen the Ecessa value proposition as a provider of failover and SD-WAN solutions,” said Mike Burica, Ecessa COO. … [Brooker’s] deep understanding of the telecommunications and networking space and proven track record of developing and leading highly motivated sales teams is a tremendous asset to Ecessa’s customers and partners. Additionally, [his] channel-first approach aligns with our overall goal of driving value through strategic partnerships.”
There’s certainly potential for growth in the WAN space. Software-defined WAN revenue, for instance, is expected to top $6 billion just four years from now, according to researchers at IDC. That’s a whopping 90 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2015 to 2020.{ad}
“… We have an outstanding opportunity to build on the company’s success in the SD-WAN market,” noted Brooker. “This technology has already disrupted the traditional WAN conversation and will be a game changer for both the client and partner communities. With that said, by focusing our efforts on the channel and the partner community, we have the ability to expand sales tenfold.”
Ecessa’s product line includes the PowerLink, ClariLink and WANworX controllers, which allow businesses of all sizes to use any type of private- or public-network bandwidth to run their Internet and cloud-based applications, connect global offices and distribute traffic among multiple, diverse WAN links – the goal being to ensure business continuity by removing bottlenecks and eliminating downtime. The company says its technology helps lower IT costs and makes it easier to provision, maintain and support business networks, as well as the applications that run over them.
Ecessa this year at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo unveiled Edge, a solution exclusive to the channel. Designed for small business networks that rely on constant connectivity to Internet or cloud-based applications, Ecessa Edge combines up to three ISP links of any type (broadband, cable, DSL, fiber, wireless). In addition, it supports voice traffic with VoIP call load balancing and VoIP in-call failover.
