Didier Lombard, the former CEO of France Telecom, faces up to a year in prison and a 15,000-euro fine if he is found guilty of harassment.

Lombard is under investigation for his alleged role in a rash of suicides at the telecom provider. He’s accused of implementing management practices that amounted to psychological harassment, Reuters reported.

More than 30 France Telecom employees committed suicide in 2008 and 2009, about 10 years after the company went private.

Lombard resigned as CEO in early 2010.
