Iowa Network Services (INS, Booth 724) announced a recent Ethernet expansion and investment throughout the state of Iowa. INS said it has met customer requests for providing a best-in-class service to fulfill the needs of making the LAN transparent.

Ethernet growth is tremendous, said INS sales manager Marty Ouverson. INS has really responded to the marketplace needs and is providing a high-performance product. In addition to the growing demand [for] INS traditional transport services, Ethernet is the next interface customers have insisted on and we will continue to meet their growing demand.

Additional INS network growth includes a new PoP in Iowa City. The PoP will be on a SONET-protected selfhealing network and also will connect to the ILEC with DS1, DS3 and OCN entrance facilities provided by INS.

To further enhance its network and service territories, INS has expanded transport capabilities out of its Omaha, Neb., PoP by adding a new partner, Cox Communications. Cox joins Alltel, AT&T Local, Qwest, Verizon Business and Windstream in providing DS1, DS3, OCN and Ethernet from the INS Omaha PoP.
