CHANNEL PARTNERS Lightyear Network Solutions (Booth #1431 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo) recently launched its new and improved version of LightSource, the Web portal and price quoting engine for its authorized agent partners.
LightSource has a number of enhancements that the company says make it much easier to do business with Lightyear and that provide some significant advantages over many of the quoting tools available in the industry today.
One of LightSources new features is its ability to offer three pricing levels with corresponding commission rates on each price quote. This provides the Lightyear agent the power to choose which rate to propose based on the competitiveness of the opportunity at hand.
We believe that providing our agents the flexibility to choose their own commission based on the competitive situation of the opportunity being quoted makes the most sense,” said Kevin Parker, Lightyears vice president of sales. We find that agents really like having the ability to pick and choose how much to earn depending on the opportunity.”
Another enhancement of LightSource is its improved quoting engine. LightSource now has the ability to quote Ethernet opportunities, an option that was not available with the earlier version of LightSource. The quoting engine also now provides fast quotes” for many of Lightyears other products, including Dynamic T1, Wireless, Dedicated Internet Access, SIP Trunking, MPLS and Point-to-Point data service, to name a few.
Lightyear also has a VoIP announcement the company will expand its VoIP product offering this year to include SIP Termination and Hosted IP for SMBE accounts. Additionally, Lightyear recently released new abilities to quote circuit-based products throughout the southeastern United States.
Finally, Lightyear has announced that any channel partner who signs up to become a Lightyear agent at the 2011 Channel Partners Expo in Las Vegas will be eligible to receive a $500 bonus on the first circuit signed. This bonus would be in addition to normal bounties and residual commissions.
