Masergy Acquires Broadcore

Masergy Communications Inc. on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Broadcore Communications, a provider of cloud communications solutions.

The deal adds to Masergy’s product suite unified communications, SIP trunking, mobility solutions and customer integration for enterprise customers.

Broadcore will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Masergy, and Broadcore’s service platform will be directly embedded into Masergy’s global MPLS network platform.

Masergy CEO Chris MacFarland credited Broadcore’s president, Monty Ferdowski, and the company’s management with “transforming a traditional PBX services business into a next-generation cloud communications provider.”

“The cloud communications market opportunity is expanding rapidly, and with this transaction, we can immediately offer these cloud solutions to enterprises on a global basis,” MacFarland said in a statement.
