MASERGY, a privately held global network services provider, announced Wednesday the promotion of Chris MacFarland to CEO and Rob Bodnar to executive vice president and CFO.
MacFarland has more than 19 years experience in telecommunications. He joined MASERGY as COO in 2008. During his career, he has held a variety of executive roles for PAETEC Holdings, McLeodUSA, BroadSoft, Allegiance Telecom, Verio and CompuNet. He also serves on the board of directors for Access Media 3 as an independent director.
Chris has demonstrated outstanding leadership in guiding MASERGY over the past two years, and the Board wanted to secure his talent for the companys next phase of growth,” said Royce Holland, executive chairman of MASERGY. “We believe Chris has the vision, energy and experience to lead MASERGY as it prepares to deliver the next generation of corporate networking solutions.”
Rob Bodnar has served as MASERGYS CFO since 2005. As executive vice president, Bodnar will be responsible for formulating capital formation strategy and leading M&A efforts, in addition to his current role of overseeing the finance, accounting and network access management teams at MASERGY. Previously, Bodnar served as vice president and CFO at Covaro Networks, which was sold to ADVA Optical Networking in early 2006. Bodnar also worked in a variety of senior financial and accounting positions at Metera Networks, Spaghetti Warehouse restaurants and KPMG.
Rob has provided sound financial advice and insight to the Board as we contemplated the companys direction over the past few years,” said Holland. He is intimately familiar with MASERGYs business, and his financial leadership has been key to the companys growth. Robs continued leadership will be critical as MASERGY positions itself for the future.”
MASERGY combines advanced transport technologies with real-time visibility and control to deliver Ethernet services across a native MPLS network to large corporate enterprises that have multiple locations around the globe.
