A face that’s well-known to partners is the new director of channel sales at Nitel, the managed telecom service provider.

Nitel's Michael MasiniAs part of its plan to double the size of its channel team in the next six months, the company hired Michael Masini, a 25-year veteran of the telecom industry — 16 of those in the channel.

Masini most recently was vice president of the channel at Impact Telecom (through its merger with TNCI). He also held executive and management positions at Clarus Communications, Cbeyond, PAETEC/Windstream and Broadwing/Level 3.

“The part I have enjoyed most about the channel is developing partnerships, especially when all parties need to be resourceful in order to reach a common goal,” said Masini, “Nitel has a reputation for delivering secure, high-performance network services to business customers, while giving agents the support they need to be successful. As I looked around the industry at channel programs and saw the caliber of the executive team and they type of talent they attract, Nitel stood out as the place I wanted to be.”{ad}

“We are thrilled to have Michael join our team in a leadership role,” said Nitel channel chief Michael Gough. “His experience in delivering value to the channel will be critical as we grow the program.”

Masini will lead a team of channel managers around the country from his home base of Chicago.
