CHANNEL PARTNERS Asia-Pacific carrier Pacnet (Booth 8000), which created its enterprise division last year, has named two channel directors Brian Quinn and Jason Kitzmiller as it continues to expand its partner program.

Both Quinn and Kitzmiller will manage master agents, and support direct and subagents. Quinn will focus on partners in the eastern United States, while Kitzmiller will have the same responsibilities on the western side of the country.

Quinn boasts more than 20 years in telecom, with much of that time spent in the agent channel. He has worked for companies including XO Communications, MCI and Internap.

Kitzmiller, meanwhile, holds 14 years’ experience in channel and direct sales, both in domestic and international markets. He joins Pacnet after five years with The Douceur Group as director of business development and channel sales; he was based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, Kitzmiller worked as a channel manager for TelePacific Communications and Mpower Communications.

Brian and Jason both bring a lot of channel marketing experience which is vital in supporting and building relationships with the partner community,” said Gina Haspilaire, vice president enterprise markets, North America and Europe. They are both results-driven sales leaders and have a deep understanding of what it takes to work with the channel and how to help agents have greater success.”

Quinn and Kitzmiller will work in Pacnet’s Enterprise Markets organization, led by Cardi Prinzi, president of enterprise markets. Pacnet aims to serve more U.S.-based companies that have operations in Asia or are looking to target the region. Pacnet said the countries of greatest interest are China and India.

Pacnets services include MPLS coverage with interconnected data centers in most major markets including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sydney, Australia. Over the past several months, the company has expanded its IP VPN license in China, added data centers and invested in its 100GBps sub-sea fiber network. Pacnet also has extended its Lightning service for high-frequency traders. Lightning connects major stock exchanges Asia and includes low-latency connectivity to Pacnet’s PoP in Chicago for access to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
