Skype will offer add its voice functionality to MySpace, the companies said Wednesday.

Skypes Internet phone service will be available on the social-networking Web sites instant-messaging function. Users will be able to make free calls to through Skype to other Skype or MySpace users, the companies said.

The plan will launch in 20 countries that have localized MySpace communities. The companies said MySpace has 110 million active users and Skype has 220 million users.

The news comes a little more than two weeks after Skype co-founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis stepped down from executive roles at the company and owner eBay Inc. acknowledged that it paid too much for the company two years ago, taking a $1.43 billion charge.
