Telarus Automates Comcast Orders
Telarus enables agents to check for Comcast service availability, configure a customer service package and generate paperwork in real time.

Master agency Telarus Inc. announced Thursday the launch of its automated Comcast Business Class qualification and paperwork generator, which enables agents to check for service availability, configure a customer service package and generate paperwork in real time.
Telarus is one of three national master agencies that are part of the initial rollout of the Comcast Business Services Solution Provider Program, which was announced March 14 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo. Comcast began processing orders from subagents March 22.
To facilitate subagents orders, Telarus is using its patented GeoQuote technology to help agents identify where Comcast Business services are available within its 19 markets.
“Once the agent selects a package with the proper bandwidth and term, they are then able to begin the paperwork generation process,” added Andrew Morgan, vice president of Web development for Telarus. “We modeled our interface from online tax preparation services. Just answer a few basic questions and out comes your paperwork.”
Completed paperwork is then e-mailed directly to the partner in a matter of seconds as an Adobe PDF attachment. The paperwork can be forwarded to the client or printed for signature.
The new Comcast Business agent program initially will focus on Comcast’s small business broadband and voice products that are comparable to T1 and integrated PRI services offered by ILEC and CLEC vendors, with later expansion into metro Ethernet networks and Internet access.
“This new software is a real game-changer,” said Lance Akins, Telarus vice president of sales East, noting that GeoQuote makes it easier and more cost-effective to sell cablecos services to businesses.
