TelePacific Changes TelWest Name

CHANNEL PARTNERS TelePacific Communications (Booth 5005 and an Executive Sponsor) has changed the name of its Texas-based subsidiary.

TelePacific closed the purchase of TelWest Network Services Corp. in October 2011 and said at the time it would keep the TelWest name. TelWest now goes by the name TelePacific Communications Co. and its agent channel has been fully integrated into the overall TelePacific TelePartner program.

“We are very excited about leveraging their channel experience, resources and relationships to create an equally successful platform for agent partners here in Texas,” said Philip Ross, TelePacific’s president of Texas operations.

Ross reports to Ken Bisnoff, vice president of strategic opportunities and channel chief at TelePacific. Bisnoff said the Texas agent channel will scale quickly throughout the Lone Star State.

The Texas markets are now 100 percent integrated into TelePacifics agent channel, giving Texas-based partners access to our full complement of sales and support resources,” Bisnoff said. In addition, various network upgrades and initiatives are already well underway so that Texas agents will soon be able to sell our entire portfolio of products and services including our imminent suite of unified communications solutions, collaboration tools and other cloud services.”

To that point, TelePacific’s Texas agents already sell the company’s high-bandwidth Ethernet over Copper services; in the coming months, they’ll also be able to sell SmartVoice SIP trunking and voice and data services, as well as hosted PBX and MPLS VPNs.

TelePacific Communications Co.’s Texas headquarters remains in Austin under Ross’s leadership.
