Verizon Communications Inc. is rolling out its first integrated quad-play bundle for its residential customers, blending wireless, TV, Internet and home phone services. They also throw in free access to some 14,000 Wi-Fi hot spots located in airports, cafes, retail stores and other public places across the country.

The bundles will launch for customers in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets that subscribe to the carrier’s FiOS services or its high-speed Internet + DIRECTV combo. More markets will follow.

The basic Verizon quad-play FiOS bundle consists of the national Verizon Wireless calling plan of 450 minutes, Freedom Essentials voice service, FiOS Internet service with downstream/upstream connection speeds of up to 15/5mbps and FiOS TV Essentials service for $134.99 per month with a one-year agreement.

For customers served by Verizon’s copper network, the lead quad-play bundle consists of the national Verizon Wireless calling plan of 450 minutes, a Freedom Essentials calling plan, high-speed Internet service with downstream connection of up to 3mbps, and the DIRECTV PLUS DVR package for $124.99 per month. A one-year Verizon commitment and a two-year DIRECTV commitment with hardware lease are required.

In a nod to those ditching landlines for wireless, Verizon is also offering similar packages without traditional home phone service. Additional quad- and triple-play bundles featuring different broadband speeds, TV plans and Verizon Wireless calling plans are also available, as well as additional copper-based double-play bundles.

With four services all on one bill, qualifying quad-play customers will save between $59 and $179 per year, depending upon which bundle they order, the company said.
