XO Teams With Equinix

XO Communications has teamed with the Equinix Cloud Exchange to provide its private networking access so organizations may securely access multiple cloud services.

Security and performance concerns have held many businesses back from accessing cloud through the public Internet.

But Equinix, an interconnection and data center company, says its Cloud Exchange, combined with XO’s IP VPN technology, reduces those risks. Soon, enterprises will be able to reach those vendors through XO’s high-speed Internet access, which will be available in five Equinix data centers across the United States.

Organizations may join the Equinix Cloud Exchange in 17 markets – Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Silicon Valley, Washington D.C., New York, Toronto, Seattle, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt – with expansion planned to a total of 19 markets by the end of the year.
