Barracuda Networks is rolling out a new email protection bundle designed to provide a defense against socially engineered business email attacks, fraud and account takeover.

Barracuda offers a combination of gateway security, data protection, artificial intelligence (AI)-based targeted threat protection and user awareness training to deliver comprehensive protection against email-borne threats. The Total Email Protection bundle includes Barracuda Essentials, Barracuda Sentinel and Barracuda PhishLine.

Ezra Hookano, Barracuda’s vice president of channels, tells Channel Partners that with the bundle, “we are fulfilling a strong demand from our partner community to offer a single SKU for the full stack of our email protection solutions … and an easier way for them to sell all the email protection their customers need.”

“With (the) Total Email Protection bundle, it is easier for channel partners to earn almost their entire protected margin as customers already receive a price break for purchasing the whole bundle and are no longer attempting to negotiate a discount on each separate product,” he said. “Further, by bundling Barracuda Essentials, Barracuda Sentinel and Barracuda PhishLine together, channel partners are able to simplify their sales process significantly, which really sets them apart from the competition.”

“We’ve been looking for a one-stop-shop for email security, and Barracuda’s Total Email Protection bundle makes that a reality for us,” said Joseph Marquette, president and founder of Accellis Technology Group.

A recent study commissioned by Barracuda revealed that 87 percent of IT security professionals said their company had faced an email-based security threat in the past year. The study includes responses from 634 executives, individual contributors and team managers serving in IT-security roles in the Americas, EMEA and APAC.

Overall, the research indicates that email threats continue to increase and the impact on staff and productivity is escalating. The vast majority of IT professionals believe that end-user training and awareness programs are vital prerequisites to help mitigate threats and improve email security, according to Barracuda.

“What was most surprising about this study was the sheer frequency and magnitude of account takeover incidents, which points to a growing threat,” Hookano said. “For channel partners, the increasing number of account-takeover incidents demonstrates the need for additional training and education for customers.”
