Cybersecurity startup Cloud24x7 has appointed former Cyberoam channel executive Jacob Thankachen as its vice president of Americas business.
Thankachen will head Cloud24x7’s expansion in the Americas region. He will be responsible for driving sales and expanding channels to help the company grow regionally.
He is a “seasoned channel veteran with a strong sales background,” and brings “deep expertise” in streamlining sales operations, developing new business and recruiting strategic channel partners, according to the company.
Thankachen previously was Cyberoam’s vice president of North American channel and enterprise business.
According to a recent MarketsandMarkets report, the Americas managed security services market is estimated to grow from nearly $18 billion in 2015 to $35.53 billion by 2020, at an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.8 percent.{ad}
“Cloud24x7 serves as a strategic security vendor to IT solutions providers, MSPs and MSSPs,” Thankachen said. “For those IT solution providers who don’t sell security today, Cloud24x7 will help open doors to the managed security business through our white-label security operations center-as-a-service (SOC) platform. For MSPs and MSSPs, we offer alternative routes to enhance margin and reduce capital expenditure. We have invested in a state-of-the-art SOC and security information and event management (SIEM) platform for threat intelligence, breach detection and proactive monitoring. Our channel partners can sell security without having to absorb high cap-ex and subsequent impact on margin.”
