As it becomes more and more evident enterprises still don’t trust the cloud as far as security goes, security firms are busy rallying to shore up their solutions to protect customers even when assets and data go off premise.

Fortinet (FTNT) and NTT Com Security are the latest companies to make moves in this area with a partnership that not only will cover cloud security, but also spans firewall and network risk management, SIEM systems integration and software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualization, the companies said in a press release.

“As global experts in our respective fields, NTT Com Security and Fortinet both share a common goal to provide organizations struggling to manage a growing number of complex and advanced threats with expert advice and world-class security solutions,” said Simon Church, CEO of NTT Com Security, in the release. “NTT Com Security’s proven security expertise and global reach combined with Fortinet’s best-of-breed solutions is a powerful combination.”

Fortinet’s expertise is in network and data-center security, while NTT Com Security’s specialty is in risk management, with a portfolio of managed security, business infrastructure, consulting and technology integration services through its WideAngle brand.

Through the new partnership, the two companies will work together to provide security advice and solutions to organizations worldwide, particularly in the area of cloud security, the companies said. The partnership includes integrating Fortinet’s security solutions into NTT Com Security offerings to help protect global customers of various sizes and business sectors, they said.

The partnership extends an existing relationship between the companies, which integrates Fortinet’s security platform with NTT Communications’ Cloud Managed Security Services.

In addition to tighter technology and solutions integration, Fortinet also now will provide technical consultants to NTT Com Security to help the company expand its support services in the areas of incident management, operational risk reduction, support in complex architectural designs, and implementations.

“Our mission is to secure and simplify IT infrastructures as businesses increasingly look to adopt cloud-based systems and virtualization,” said Ken Xie, CEO of Fortinet, in the release. “Through our partnership with NTT Com Security, we continue to expand our global value-added security services and solutions for organizations to protect their next-generation networks and data centers.”
