G Data Software AG, an anti-virus and anti-maleware company in the UK, is launching a North America channel partner program. The move comes as some U.S. security companies pursue mergers and acquisitions. Here’s the update.
G Data Software’s North American partner program will have three tiers: Platinum, Gold and Silver.
Platinum Partners are system integrators, software vendors and VARs. Those partners receive leads, one-on-one technical pre-sales, sales, marketing support, 24/365 technical support, free versions of products and can develop their own sales structure.
Gold Partners are system vendors, system integrators and MSPs. Those partners receive all of the benefits a Platinum Partner receives, but they cannot customize their sales structure.
Silver Partners are specialist dealers and system vendors in the SMB sector.
It’s been a busy few months for G Data. In late April 2011, G Data developed its MobileSecurity application to make Android smartphones and tablet PCs malware-safe for individual users and companies. G Data Software unveiled the security application at Interop. G Data Software also used the Interop conference to release EndpointProtection 11.
Meanwhile, consolidation continues is the security software market. Sources say CA Technologies is set to sell its anti-virus and security business to an investment firm. And Sophos recently announced plans to acquire Astaro.
