Good Technology, a provider of secure and managed enterprise mobility and collaboration tools for a range of mobile devices, announced the availability of Good Mobile Access (GMA) for Android users, a secure mobile browser for Android. GMA, a feature of the Good for Enterprise solution, provides secure mobile access to behind-the-firewall applications, resources and data. In addition, the GMA accomplishes this without a virtual private network (VPN) connection.

Good Technology pointed to a recent Gartner study that said Android has more than 50 percent share of the worldwide smartphone market as of 3Q11, an increase from the previous year.

To deliver greater mobile access and data protection, Good Technology has integrated its Good Mobile Access with its Good for Enterprise. The GMA solution leverages Good’s NOC-based infrastructure to enable access to corporate networks. By enabling access to corporate networks, employees can safely access company databases, resources and collaboration tools such as SharePoint.

With Good Technology’s application, malicious apps are prevented from accessing the broader corporate environment and eliminating the need to expose enterprise infrastructure. GMA also encrypts browser cache, cookies, bookmarks and history to prevent loss at the device-level.

Good Mobile Access for Android is available immediately to all Good for Enterprise customers using 1.9.0 or higher.
