Windstream Enterprise has unveiled its new security information and event management (SIEM) service to address growing security threats, and regulatory and compliance requirements faced that businesses face.

The service monitors for threats and responds to those detected in business networks. Log retention is available for devices that are monitored and can be securely archived for as long as seven years.

Windstream’s Trent Pham

Trent Pham, Windstream Enterprise’s head of security, tells Channel Partners that the company’s partners now have a “very competitive” offering to address enterprises’ security and compliance needs.

“The new SIEM service, comprised of threat monitoring and log retention, will be added to the existing MNS Cloud Premium and MNS CPE Premium packages,” he said.

Customers may add certain devices they own to be monitored to improve threat detection, Pham said. SIEM service’s threat monitoring, log retention and reporting meet common requirements found in regulations such as PCI (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974), he said.

“Also, this solution is competitively priced and includes [around-the-clock] security monitoring and response, making it an excellent fit for our security-savvy partners and their customers, as well as a great entry point into the security space for our partners that are less experienced in this area,” he said. “This is another example of our commitment to being a guide, for our partners and their customers, into these technical solutions.”

The service is designed to complement Windstream Enterprise’s existing managed network security service, and future services such as SD-WAN and managed router to provide comprehensive secure solutions.
