The top concern enterprises have when it comes to mobile device management (MDM) can be summed up in a word: Security.

That’s according to an online live survey about MDM solutions conducted during a webinar held by the Telecom Expense Management Industry Association TEMIA, a telecom expense management service provider, and Wireless Analytics, a wireless expense management business process outsourcer. The poll revealed that 70 percent of respondents believed that security is a top enterprise MDM concern.

Erik Eames, Wireless Analytics managing director and Fernando Oliveira, Wireless Analytics VP of client services, covered five considerations for planning an MDM strategy throughout the webinar that attracted 63 registrants. Attendees were taught how to effectively balance security, compliance, liability and cost concerns in an MDM strategy. Also, Eames and Oliverira discussed the importance of including stakeholders early in the process, as well as the need for managers/CIOs to secure and test all devices they’re considering using for their enterprise.

Communicating with all departments was another imperative MDM strategy revealed during the webinar. In order to accomplish this task, Oliveira suggested starting out new users with tutorials and links to online training resources.

Finally, top providers for MDM security were analyzed. In a simple response, Wireless Analytics answered that there is no one-size-fits-all provider.
