Securonix, a security information and event management (SIEM) provider, has rolled out its first global MSSP program.

The program is designed to attract and allow global MSSPs to enhance their threat detection and response capabilities with Securonix SIEM.

David Wagner, Securonix’s senior director of global MSSP business, tells us the new program is an expansion of the company’s existing VAR/reseller program. A former partner executive at LogRhythm, Alert Logic and IBM, Wagner recently joined Securonix and will lead the new program.

“Many MSSP’s are looking for new and better SIEM partners because the current state of SIEM technologies are difficult and expensive to use and get a good result,” he said. “Additionally, most organizations don’t have the required security skill sets to utilize any next-gen SIEM platform and are looking for MSSPs to provide that service for them in increasing numbers.”

Securonix SIEM provides flat identity-based pricing, is available as a fully-managed cloud service, and delivers advanced threat detection and response with built-in user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA), and security orchestration and response (SOAR) capabilities.

“The basic requirements of an MSSP are much different than that of a VAR/reseller,” Wagner said. “They need a much greater level of partner enablement with regard to training, professional services and integrations with key third-party technologies, multitenancy support and more. Bringing them on board illustrated the need for a formal MSSP program.”

Most current MSSPs provide a very basic service using limited, older technologies, he said. They are all looking to be able to provide a “superior level” of service level agreement (SLA) or business outcomes with more and new key differentiators, he said.

“The Securonix platform utilizes threat chains with a scoring system and visibility into exactly where the threat is and at what stage the threat is within the attack/kill chain,” Wagner said.

Securonix is offering early MSSP partners free training and deployment support to enable them to replace their legacy SIEM platforms. As part of the program, Securonix already has on-boarded several managed service providers globally with many more in the pipeline.

“Securonix is a very good fit for our customers that are looking for advanced threat detection capabilities to protect against sophisticated cyberattacks,” said Paul Bates, vice president of portfolio and technology at Proact IT Group. “The built-in UEBA capabilities in the Securonix solution, combined with the data privacy features, provide improved threat detection while maintaining compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and works [with] council privacy requirements.”
