The acquisition became final on Aug. 25, and SpamExperts’ technology will fully integrate into SolarWinds’ portfolio sometime in the next 30 days.

SolarWinds says the acquisition will improve its MSP Mail offering. The company listed other benefits as an intelligent threat engine, an intuitive user interface, and easy options for private branding.

“When we look at ways to build an even better MSP solution platform, we think first about what that means to our customers and their unique business objectives,” said John Pagliuca, general manager of SolarWinds MSP. “The acquisition of SpamExperts will help MSPs deliver even more secure and robust mail protection and management, which is a foundational part of a successful IT service provider’s business. We’re excited to have the opportunity to leverage the global expertise of this proven SaaS company, whose focus on superior customer satisfaction and true market disruption aligns perfectly with ours.”

Greg Lissy, SolarWinds’ vice president of product management, says SpamExperts’ filtering engine is active on more than 10 million secured domains and receives continuous updates about spam and phishing threats.

“SpamExpert’s technology provides an even more robust combination with a detection network of over 10 million secured domains, and a rich threat-intelligence engine using machine learning and heuristic analysis to offer unparalleled protection,” Lissy said.

SpamExperts has existed since 2005, which makes it six years younger than SolarWinds.

SolarWinds recently debuted a mobile application to help MSPs oversee their customer support. We frequently write about its surveys and studies, including a May report that says businesses are dangerously overconfident in their cybersecurity abilities.
