Webroot Brings BrightCloud IP to LogRhythm

Internet threat detection company Webroot has integrated its services with security intelligence company LogRhythm to provide customers with more versatile and effective threat protection. The partnership will integrate the Webroot BrightCloud IP Reputation Service with LogRhythm’s Security Intelligence Platform, giving users two ways to detect and protect their sensitive data from potential breaches.

The BrightCloud IP Reputation Service for LogRhythm is a real-time threat intelligence service that helps LogRhythm customers identify malicious and benign IPs in their network traffic, according to the press release. With the integration, LogRhythm users can correlate global IP Reputation data from Webroot against previously collected LogRhythm data to identify potentially malicious IP traffic. According to Webroot, once malware or other harmful traffic is detected, the system will perform other tasks to give administrators visibility into network behavioral changes and malicious IPs, and automate attack remediation.

Webroot is one of the inaugural partners in LogRhythm’s Threat Intelligence Ecosystem, a cabal of threat intelligence vendors focused on delivering advanced sercurity intelligence through their combined security analytics and intelligence platforms. The addition of BrightCloud Security Services into the LogRhythm platform are expected to enhance the company’s security offerings while strengthening the two company’s combined security efforts.

Webroot, which unveiled new details on its Channel Edge Reseller Program in July, released its BrightCloud Security Services for Enterprise portfolio in June to help enterprise customers protect their sensitive data through integration with popular network security and management platforms, according to the company. With the integration between Webroot and LogRhythm, enterprise users should have even more options when it comes to beefing up their network visibility, with network security vendors likely to benefit from increase collaboration between the two companies.
