Windstream Hosted Solutions on Wednesday announced that more than 12 of its data centers have passed a more stringent audit.
The results, the company said, reflect its commitment to guaranteeing the security of customers’ data and systems.
The data centers in Boston, Philadelphia and other locations were found to be in compliance with the SSAE 16, SOC 1 Type II standard, which was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
“The SSAE test reviews a wide range of controls focused on the security of data as they pertain to governmental financial regulations, and determines whether those controls are correctly operating, suitably designed, and operating effectively,” Windstream Hosted Solutions said.
Most of Windstream Hosted Solutions’ data centers throughout the U.S. are included in the SSAE audit, including centers in Boston, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Raleigh.
Windstream Hosted Solutions is a part of Windstream Corp., the telecommunications provider based in Little Rock, Ark.
