XO Communications Teams with BAE Systems, Fortinet on AWS Security Bundle

XO Communications (XO) has teamed with security solution providers BAE Systems and Fortinet (FTNT) to bring a new Managed Security Bundle to its customers. The joint solution is expected to increase connectivity speed and automate security for AWS Direct Connect customers.

The bundle combines firewall technology from Fortinet with managed security services for BAE, both of which run on XO’s MPLS network. By giving customers an all-in-one solution, XO said customers will be able to simultaneously cut down on their security spend while increasing automatic detection and prevention capabilities.

“Our new managed security bundle for AWS Direct Connect is an integral element of our network-enabled cloud strategy helping businesses to effectively and efficiently leverage both public and private cloud services to maximize their business productivity,” said Jake Heinz, senior vice president of Marketing and Product at XO Communications, in a statement. “In today’s environment where data security is a top priority, businesses can effortlessly leverage services designed for a higher level of security for their AWS Cloud data accessed through the XO network.”

Pricing information for the bundle was not disclosed in the announcement. The bundle expands upon XO’s prior AWS Direct Connect capabilities, which were launched last year.
