Cloud storage and file sharing service Box has acquired technology behind a company called dLoop to extend controls for enterprise admins looking to further content safeguards. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Box Engineering Senior Vice President Sam Schillace noted in a company blog post that Box is “incredibly excited to extend the richness and functionality of Box with new enterprise controls that provide admins even greater safeguards around enterprise content.”

Once integrated with Box, dLoop’s technology will assist administrators with document searching through pattern-matching solutions, locating related content in need of viewing, the company said.

DLoop co-founder Divya Jain will be joining Box, leading the company’s advanced content analysis and data classification efforts.

While Box is making moves to improve its enterprise-class cloud storage and file sharing services, other vendors are creating pure channel alternatives to Box, including Dropbox and other popular cloud-based file sync and sharing services.
