Airespring Offers International Super Dial

Airespring Inc. (Booths 300-302) is showcasing its new International Super Dial service, which is aimed at cutting the high costs of international wireless calling for consumers and giving agents additional opportunities to earn commissions on Airespring’s competitive international termination rates.

"If you call internationally from a cell phone, it’s very expensive," says Daniel Lonstein, senior vice president of marketing for Airespring. As an alternative, Airespring offers customers a U.S. area code and phone number to call into to get dial tone so they can make their international calls as if they were on a landline.

Customers are charged Airespring’s wireline termination rates and are billed directly by Airespring as if for a phone line. "It’s postpaid and there’s no premium or monthly fee," Lonstein adds. The service is reminiscent of 10-10 in that it is pay-per-use, but customers sign a contract and the bill comes directly from Airespring.

Lonstein says the service offers consumers the ability to call from wherever they are at the scheduled call time instead of waiting at home or at the office to call from a landline.

Since there are no PINs, Lonstein says the access number is easily programmed into speed dial, making it simple to use for both residential and business users.

Also, he says it can be an add-on sale to customers who have signed up for unlimited long-distance and want to add economical international calling.

Examples of Airespring’s rates are 4.8 cents per minute to Israel; 4.5 cents to Tokyo; 4.5 cents to Mexico City; and 8.8 cents to Johannesburg.

The service was rolled out to agents earlier this month.
