April 20, 2006
VoX Communications Corp., eLEC Communications Corp.’s wholesale and retail provider of VoIP services nationwide, today announced American Cable Services, an independent cable operator located in Ocala, Fla., is deploying VoX services as the broadband phone component of a new triple-play offer, which also includes cable TV and high-speed Internet. The offering is being deployed first in Little Harbor, a coastal resort community of 2,300 residences in Ruskin, Fla.
Over the next several years, American Cable is contracted to provide the bundled service to approximately 150,000 multifamily residence units in Florida, many of which will have mandatory phone under their Home Owners Association covenants. The integrated offering becomes an amenity that is paid for as part of the resident’s monthly dues.
In related news, Vermont-based Stowe Cable also recently launched private-label phone service powered by VoX Communications.
