It’s never a slow week in the channel, as vendors line up distribution deals to expand their offerings, broaden their global reach and attract new customers.
Arrow Electronics signed an agreement to distribute the StorMagic SvSan virtual storage appliance to its community of service providers in the United States and Canada. StorMagic provides software-defined storage for virtual server environments.
The StorMagic SvSAN serves any small business or enterprise remote location, running critical applications on site without dedicated local IT resources. Users can include college campuses, medical offices, retailers or even a remote, unmanned wind energy farm.
“This distribution agreement with StorMagic offers Arrow’s solution providers and their customers a proven virtualization solution that requires minimal IT infrastructure, which helps to reduce ownership costs,” said Mark Taylor, vice president of North American servers, systems and software for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business.
In addition, Arrow and Splunk Inc., a provider of software platform for real-time operational intelligence, announced a distribution agreement for the U.S. and Canada. Arrow will distribute Splunk software that lets users search, monitor and analyze all machine-generated IT and business data from a single location in real time.
Through its agreement with Splunk, Arrow will make available to its resellers the following offerings:
Splunk Enterprise collects, indexes, monitors, analyzes and visualizes machine data being generated by websites, applications, servers, networks, sensors, mobile devices and more.
Splunk’s Hunk allows users to detect data patterns and find anomalies without …
… specialized skill sets, fixed schemas or months of development.
Splunk App for Enterprise Security provides monitoring, alerting and analytics to detect known and unknown threats in real time.
Arrow serves as a supply channel partner for more than 100,000 original equipment manufacturers, contract manufacturers and commercial customers through a global network of more than 460 locations in 56 countries.
Also this week, ScanSource Communications announced that it is now an authorized distributor of VolP service provider Mitel’s full line of communications offerings in North America.
ScanSource’s agreement will allow it to provide resellers with Mitel’s entire portfolio of communications products, including business phones, UC and collaboration offerings, as well as contact center.
“ScanSource has a strong and proven presence in the unified communications space,” said Sandra Hill, Mitel’s vice president of distribution and sales strategy. “Their reach and knowledge of these channels will allow the Mitel brand to expand as ScanSource and our reseller partners deliver solutions the way end users want to consume them.”
