ASCENT: 3PV Third Party Verification Reports Growth

3PV Third Party Verification (Booth 510) has grown its customer base by about 500 percent, internationally and domestically, while maintaining a 100 percent customer-retention rate.

"We’re seeing the verification volumes increase dramatically month after month and that’s a very positive trend for the entire telecom industry," says Dale Combs, president of 3PV, claiming that the company gets a dozen unsolicited inquiries for its services every week from existing and new carriers.

3PV was started to address the third-party verification (TPV) needs of one carrier, Sprint Corp. "For years, we focused our attentions exclusively on our Sprint contract, which incidentally was just extended for another three years," David Goldstone, 3PV director of sales and marketing. "Occasionally another company would approach us by word of mouth, expressing dissatisfaction with their current TPV vendor, wanting to know if they could use our services. We realized that we had unintentionally satisfied a neglected part of the market."

That’s when the company decided to open up its services to other carriers and other business verticals.

Now, after four years in the business, the company reports that it has completed more than five million verifications. "We’ve never lost a verification or lost a challenge to a verification," notes Goldstone, adding that the company utilizes speech recognition in its verification process.

Here’s how it works: Agents enter information into the 3PV system, identifying themselves and the customer. The agents connect to the 3PV network and enter the system-generated pre-verification number, which initiates the confirmation process for the customer when the agents drop off of the line. The customer then confirms verification data gathered by the 3PV system. All verifications are reported in summary and detailed formats, available 24×7 via e-mail, batch reporting and GUI interfaces. In compliance with FCC regulations, records are stored for two years and are available for immediate retrieval via the Internet as WAV files.

"When we started 3PV, we made a point of designing the unrivaled, best-in-breed solution possible," says COO David Brinkman. "As technology has advanced, so too has our operating system. We maintain a carrier grade network operations center with dual-entrant SONET rings from multiple carriers, waterless fire suppression, full building generator backup and fully redundant systems. All of our verification products meet or exceed FCC requirements, so before we bring a product to the marketplace, we make sure it’s been thoroughly researched, tested and hosted in a secure environment. Everything we do is turnkey. We’re very proud of our perfect track record and work diligently to maintain it."

The company recently received an excellence award for its innovative Biometrics product line. The 3PV Voice Print Verifier can be placed anywhere within a given call to authenticate access to data or confirm the legitimacy of a transaction.
