Avaya Adds Android, SIP Mobile Clients

Avaya upgraded its one-X UC soft client and added a SIP client  to support more mobile devices.

Avaya Inc. announced Monday that it has upgraded its one-X UC soft client to include support for more mobile devices as well as support for more functionality across endpoints and soft clients..

The one-X soft client now works on Android-based devices such the Samsung Galaxy II; Apple MAC OS, Apple iPhone 3GS and 4G, and RIM/Blackberry touch-screen devices in addition to Symbian and Windows-based operating systems. Avaya also has unveiled a new SIP client for Apple iOS on iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone enabling UC and voice over Wi-Fi or cellular networks.

In addition, presence status of team members is available across Avaya endpoints and soft clients including Microsoft OCS  and mobile devices. Unified call logs, contact lists and voice messages also are available across all endpoints and soft clients.

Further, management and administration of mobile UC client applications has been consolidated onto a single, virtualized server.
