BCN Telecom Inc. has jumped into the managed services niche.

The New Jersey-based CLEC said Wednesday it has acquired almost all of GroveLine LLC’s assets. Terms weren’t disclosed, as BCN is privately held. GroveLine manages companies’ telephony service, Internet access, office equipment and office-to-office data.

BCN said buying GroveLine not only provides revenue growth, but it also adds independent sales agents with clients concentrated in Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.

Dick Boudria, BCN Telecom’s chairman and CEO, said GroveLine shares “many common value propositions” for end users and channel partners. “BCN Telecom is simply larger and further along in the development of the business infrastructure,” he said. “The GroveLine customers and sales agents will benefit greatly from the enhanced offering the combined companies can deliver to the marketplace.”

BCN said the transaction should close within 90 days.
