BillSoft Marks 10th Anniversary

BillSoft Inc., a provider of tax calculation solutions, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2007.

In 1995, BillSofts founder Tim Lopatofsky, then an executive at a telecommunications service provider, searched for a solution to accurately calculate taxes for the companys services. What he found in the market was not promising and made it seem impossible for the company to comply with tax laws. With this in mind, Lopatofsky started BillSoft to make tax calculation much simpler and cost effective.

BillSoft debuted in 1997 with its first product, EZTax. EZTax calculates transaction taxes in all jurisdictions city, county, state and federal. Since its inception, EZTax has expanded to provide taxation calculations for many different types of services, including cable and satellite television, wireless services, VoIP and retail sales and use, in addition to traditional telecommunications services. EZTax now supports tax calculation for products and services in more than 85 countries.

Over the years, BillSoft has expanded its offerings to include products and services for address verification, tax jurisdiction assignment, tax viewing, tax customization, product bundling, tax and technical consulting, and tax remittance.
