Birch Communications has added prepaid wireless phones and services to its newly rebranded prepaid division, Tempo Telecom.
Birch itself specializes in voice, data and managed services for businesses; but, about five years ago, the company added a retail facet when it bought prepaid home phone provider NOW Communications. About a month ago, Birch renamed NOW as Tempo Telecom and this week beefed up the offerings with prepaid wireless. Channel partners who serve as dealers with storefronts may sell Tempo’s devices and plans.
Tempo offers monthly plans that feature unused-minutes carryover; top-up minutes that roll over; pay-as-you-go choices with 100-day and 365-day calling periods; and unlimited, uncapped data plans. There are no annual contracts, credit checks or hidden charges, Tempo said.
Available wireless devices include smartphones and feature phones from manufacturers including Samsung and LG.
