Black Box Signs Agreement to Buy NextiraOne
April 11, 2006
Several months after announcing it would buy NextiraOne LLC, Black Box Corp. has signed an agreement to purchase the systems integrator.
Black Box, a network infrastructure services company, in December 2005 said it would acquire NextiraOne, projecting it would close the deal last month. Those plans have been changed to the end of April. The companies are not disclosing the financial terms of the deal.
Black Box, a publicly held company, is purchasing the commercial and government operations of NextiraOne in Canada and the United States. Black Box stocks were trading lower on the Nasdaq early Tuesday afternoon, down 2.6 percent at $46.25. NextiraOne is owned by Platinum Equity LLC.
When the transaction closes, Black Box will rebrand NextiraOne as Black Box. The companies said the combined entity will continue to support installed and new voice technology requirements for all NextiraOne clients. Black Box also will continue to be a Strategic Authorized National Nortel Elite Business Partner for all of Nortel’s products and services throughout the United States and Canada.
