Wireless-devices distributor Brightpoint Inc. has completed the $80 million cash acquisition of Touchstone Wireless Repair and Logistics.

Touchstone repairs and refurbishes IT systems, mobile phones and other communications equipment. Buying the company gives Brightpoint an in-house repair operation with more than 300 technicians.

Adding Touchstone’s capabilities in the repair and reverse logistics arena increases the breadth and intrinsic value of Brightpoint’s services and solutions portfolio available to our customers in more than 25 countries,” Robert J. Laikin, chairman and CEO of Brightpoint, said in a press release.

The deal was announced on Dec. 13 and closed on Dec. 23, about a week earlier than projected.

Brightpoint, also a master agent, is headquartered in Indianapolis while Touchstone is based in Hatfield, Penn.
