BroadSoft Inc. announced Tuesday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Movial Applications, Helsinki, Finland, a privately held client developer for IP communications services and a Broadsoft solutions partner since 2009.
Under the terms of the agreement, BroadSoft will acquire Movial’s client user applications, products, technologies and related assets, as well as certain employees. BroadSoft anticipates the all-cash acquisition will be non-dilutive to non-GAAP earnings per share for 2012.
Movial Applications designs and develops user interfaces and multimedia sharing applications for a range of communications devices and IP-based communications applications.
Broadsoft plans to integrate the Movial client with its BroadWorks and BroadCloud communications platforms to enable its 450 global service provider customers to deliver a consistent user experience across devices and operating systems.
This is the second acquisition for the hosted communications platform vendor this month. On Oct. 3, Broadsoft announced the closing of its acquisition of iLinc Communications Inc., a provider of Web collaboration services.
