One of the telecommunication industry’s most experienced and well-respected entrepreneurs, Robert
Annuziata, has agreed to serve on the board of directors for PointOne Telecommunications
(www.pointone.com).
Annunziata, who resigned as CEO of Global Crossing Ltd.
(www.globalcrossing.com), is the second high-profile industry leader to join the PointOne
Telecommunications family in the past two months. In July, Paget L. Alves became the company’s CEO and president.
Currently serving also as PF.Net Communications Group Inc.’s
(www.pf.net) chairman, Annunziata said in an interview that he expects no conflict of interest, and he praises the approach PointOne has taken in the fast growing VoIP industry.
Along with Global Crossing, which he left in March, Annunziata has served as president of AT&T’s
(www.att.com) $22 billion business services group.
In that role, he guided the company’s global network of providing voice and data services to millions of business customers throughout the world.
From 1983 to 1998, Annunziata was chairman and CEO of Teleport Communications Group
(www.tcg.com), the country’s first and largest
CLEC. He sold that company in 1998 to AT&T for $12 billion. Prior to that, he had spent 17 years at AT&T in various senior sales, marketing and operational positions.
“To build a world-class company you need world-class leadership, and there are few people in the world with Robert Annunziata’s track record of building companies and shareholder value,” says PointOne chairman Richard Sorenson. “We are thrilled that we were able to attract a seasoned executive of his caliber.”
