Cablevision Systems Corp.’s Optimum Voice SIP Trunking now is certified for two of Cisco’s unified communications PBXs.

Optimum’s SIP trunking works with Cisco’s UC320 and the UC500 series PBXs. When companies combine one of the platforms with SIP trunking, they save money because they are not using legacy telephony access. They also can connect multiple locations and take advantage of the same communications features at each site. Optimum’s SIP trunking features include call routing, unlimited calling for a flat monthly rate, call admission control and more.

Optimum was particularly bullish on the certification for the Cisco 320. That product supports up to 24 employees, a target demographic for many telecom channel partners.

With the certification of the Cisco UC320, we are extending availability of our next-generation service to even our smallest customers that may require 10 to 20 telephone numbers but only need as little as four concurrent calling sessions,” said Joseph DeLotto, vice president of business product management for Cablevision.
