Service provider PowerNet Global Communications is partnering with Camvera Networks, a wireless broadband systems integration and management company, to trial VoIP services over fixed wireless networks.
If all goes as planned, those services will be available through PowerNet Globals channel partners.
Were going down the path to provide wireless broadband access and VoIP services to rural communities throughout the United States, explains Mike Shaw, vice president of product management and network solutions for PowerNet Global.
Rural communities often receive sub-standard communications services, and PowerNet says it wants to help bring fixed-wireless broadband to that market.
Systems integrator Camvera uses mostly Navini and Motorola Inc. equipment and says the initial trials with PowerNet Global will incorporate Navinis Rip Wave Technology. PowerNet Global will use technology from Veraz, Sylantro and Iperia.
