Cedar Point Communications Inc. and TransNational Communications Inc. (TNCI) have teamed up for a couple of firsts.

TNCI will deploy Cedar Points SAFARI C³ Multimedia Switching System, a VoIP platform for SMBs, in its network, which makes it the first facilities-based offering for the national reseller. The agreement also marks Cedar Points entry into the CLEC market.

The multimillion dollar deal calls for TNCI to use the SAFARI C³ switch and for Cedar Point to support services for the provision of voice services to several hundred thousand lines over the next 24 to 36 months, the companies said.

SAFARI C³ is designed to fit within an IMS core network infrastructure, allowing operators to take advantage of their initial equipment investment in voice as they introduce services such as video telephony and fixed-mobile applications. New applications can be integrated into SAFARI C³, or they can be accessed via third-party application servers.
