Service provider Host.net (Booth 1437) has completed its acquisition of rival Expedient Florida/WebUnited and opened its 19,000-square-foot facility.

The recent expansion increased the colocation space by 6,800 square feet, and added a NOC and more than 10,000 square feet of disaster recovery office space.

Its a milestone for us to add the Expedient Florida assets along with WebUniteds customers and over 300 fiber miles of network capability to ours, said Jeffrey Davis, CEO and co-founder of Host.net.

He said the network has been upgraded to 10GB and connects the major data centers in southern Florida.

This network will provide our customers and prospects greater network alternatives and the new colocation space will meet the growing demand for power and cooling, Davis said.

Host.net sells services including colocation, metro Ethernet, Internet access, VoIP and managed network security through agents. In fact, new partnerships mean Host.net now offers metro Ethernet in Atlanta, Raleigh, N.C., and throughout southern Florida.
