Cisco Adds Energy Efficiency to OS

Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) became the second major communications industry player this week to announce “going green” initiatives.
The equipment vendor has added energy efficiency to the operating system that runs its Catalyst switches. Users now can monitor and regulate the energy use of any of the devices connected to the network.
On Tuesday, cableco Cox Communications-Arizona held an event to showcase its new solar panels and other environmentally friendly initiatives.
