Citel Introduces SIP-Trunking Voice Platform

In conjunction with the Internet Telephony Conference and Expo, Citel plc announced Wednesday a SIP-trunking voice platform using the Citel EXTender product suite; enabling distributed enterprises to replace branch office local circuits and connect directly to a centralized PBX, via a SIP-trunking service provider.

Distributed enterprises need a better solution for connecting branch offices and remote workers, said Michael Robinson, CEO of Citel. By combining our EXTenders with SIP trunking, distributed enterprise customers can literally get more for less. More features, more productivity, and more reliability at lower operating cost than todays PSTN-based solutions.

Citels SIP-trunking voice platform includes Citels PBXgateway (I or II) at the central PBX site, and Citel EXTender 4100, 6000, IP6000, or 7000 at remote locations. The platform also features a single voice network, which eliminates the need to obtain a PRI circuit in one city and extra POTS or PRI circuits in other cities; in addition, it eliminates the need for additional PBX or key systems in larger branch offices.

The SIP-trunking voice platform also enables one dialing plan and voice mail system administered by an enterprises headquarters. Branch offices and headquarters use the same voice features and functionality, including call logging. Headquarters own and control remote workers phone numbers, and a single receptionist uses presence applications and remote call coverage. A simultaneous ring can also be used for all field workers.
